Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 June 2026

Heart Rate Monitor (“the app”) is built to be private by design. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.

Information we collect

None. The app does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email address or any other identifying information, and contains no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking software.

Heart-rate data

When you connect a Bluetooth heart-rate sensor, the app reads your heart-rate measurements directly from that device and displays them on screen. These readings are held only in your Mac's memory for the current session — roughly the most recent hour of samples — so the chart and statistics can be shown. The data is not written to any server, is not synced to the cloud, and is cleared when you quit the app or press “Clear”.

Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth solely to discover and connect to standard heart-rate sensors (devices implementing the Bluetooth Heart Rate Service). macOS may ask for your permission to use Bluetooth the first time you run the app. Bluetooth access is never used for location tracking or any purpose other than reading your heart rate.

Data sharing

Because no personal data ever leaves your Mac, there is nothing for us to share with third parties, and we do not.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
